Application Consultant

Summary

Application Consultant works with clients, prospects and team members in the project planning and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics business software solutions.  This includes helping clients analyze their financial, customer, vendor, supply chain, and other key business processes and recommending improvements gained by leverage Microsoft systems.  This person assists in the sales process with project analysis, scope of work creation, estimating, proposal development and presentation.  On awarded projects he/she is responsible for translating business needs into software configuration, installation, training and implementation results within consulting projects and and ongoing relationships with customers.  This person also performs operational and administrative functions depending on the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Scope

• Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
• Develop a scope of work, project cost estimate and schedule.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of the project proposal and presentation.
• Analyze and estimate feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility within the Client’s technical environment

Project Delivery

• Work with others to keep projects on schedule and recommend ways to reach results and overcome delays.
• Follows established implementation standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new or improved delivery strategies and initiatives.
• 50-70% travel.

Client Relationships

• Develop and/or maintain all project documentation and client reporting.
• Participate in service level meetings when appropriate.
• Provide user training on new solutions and user documentation.
• Support solutions by answering application questions, tracking issues, monitoring changes and resolving or escalating problems according to company guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for new business and bring these to the attention of the appropriate people.
• Install application software and associated updates as needed.
• Contribute to the creation of the support (maintenance) contract for the new solution.

Professional Development

• Develop personal skills to efficiently and effectively work individually and as a member of the Consulting team
• Participate in company sponsored job related activities and training to further develop your technical skills
• Mentor new Consulting team members as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Operations, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study.

Professional Experience – 2 or more years

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills –Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer Skills – The top candidate should have most of the following technical experience.

• ERP Installation Experience

Developer is responsible for modifying, customizing and installing Microsoft Dynamics software at the direction of a project manager; gathering business requirements through direct virtual or onsite client interaction; translating those requirements into detailed functional, technical specifications; programming code or modifying existing programs to customize software to the Client’s needs; testing and debugging program errors; and implementing an efficient solution for Clients.

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the overall quality of the software products delivered to Merit Solutions’ customers. The Quality Assurance Analyst will maintain the processes, standards, and requirements of the test process; maintain automated testing tools; and execute this process for all software prior to delivery to our customers. The QA Analyst will also take steps to improve the quality of the product being delivered to the customer through the definition and implementation of quality processes and checks throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Verifies the correctness of all products delivered by Merit Solutions.
• Ensures quality deliverables through well defined processes, quality assurance, and system test scripts
• Analyzes best-in class processes, establishes customer satisfaction metrics, and understands the interaction and relationship of business operations and operating systems and network processes.
• Establishes advanced software test standards and methods and conducts complex software tests.
• Debugs the product and develops test environments and quality plans.
• Understand existing and designs new in-house Test Tools.

Project manager is the primary point of contact between our team members, any vendors and the Client. Project Scope
o Review project proposals with management and Clients to determine goals, timeframe, funding limits, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
o Develop each project plan consisting of a technical scope and objectives of the work, staffing, scheduling with key milestones and deliverables, budget, risks, contingency plans, and how to allocate available resources.

Project Delivery
