Virtual Partner Briefing Goes Live on April 22, 2010

In an effort to better assist Microsoft Dynamics Partners in their preparations for hosting customers at Convergence, Microsoft is offering a way to brief partners prior to the event. The traditional live briefing day will be transformed into a new Virtual Partner Briefing.

The Virtual Partner Briefing will be available beginning Thursday, April 22, 2010. No advance sign-up is required. While it is recommended that content be viewed prior to Convergence, all content will be available for on-demand viewing for a period of four to five months post Convergence as well.

Help for Haiti from the Microsoft Dynamics Community

We would like to take a moment to pause and reflect on the ongoing disaster taking place in Haiti. Already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti again has taken a major blow.

How can you help? First off, be cautious. There are a lot of scams going on right now. Make sure you are giving to the right organizations, and do a little background before donating.

We recommend giving to The Red Cross. So far, the American Red Cross has received $37 million in donations, breaking records for pledges to the Red Cross made within the same time period after a disaster. More than half of the donations have been through online contributions, with strong support from corporations and record-setting activity in mobile giving. However, this is not enough.

There are numerous ways to donate to the Red Cross.

Text "Haiti" to the number 90999. A $10 donation will be added to your next cell phone bill. (Verified by The Red Cross website)
Dial 1-800-RED-CROSS and make a donation over the phone.
Donate online at www.redcross.org

Not only is Microsoft making an initial commitment of $1.25 million, which includes cash and in-kind contributions, but they are taking it one step further. Microsoft is also matching all current employees in donations, up to $12,000 per employee. Scenario: You have three companies in Microsoft Dynamics GP and one company in QuickBooks. To make matters worse, all four of these companies have different GL account structures! What to do to get them all on the same financial statement? Move the QuickBooks company to Dynamics GP of course! Short of that, FRx allows Dynamics GP users to consolidate financial information from systems outside of GP into one consolidated statement. Attend this informative one hour session to sharpen your knowledge of FRx in general, and learn some specific tricks related to multi-company consolidation.
